Men's Runner of the Week: Jon Bishop, Texas A&M
Texas A&M's Jon Bishop led the Aggies to a fifth-place performance in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, posting a time of 24:40.7 on the 8,000m course. Bishop placed 18th among a field of 349 runners. The race featured more than 30 teams, including Arizona, Missouri, Ohio State, Grand Valley State, Washington-St. Louis and Nebraska.
Men's Freshman of the Week: Karl Thiessen, Tennessee
Tennessee's Karl Thiessen was the No. 2 finisher for the Vols at the Nuttycombe Invitational against a field of 19 nationally ranked teams. Thiessen finished in 24:25.8 and was the seventh finisher among freshmen in the field.
Women's Runner of the Week: Katrina Robinson, Arkansas
Arkansas' Katrina Robinson crossed the line in 19:55.3 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. She finished as the top freshman in the field and was eighth overall. Robinson was also the top finisher from an SEC institution, running a season best time. She led the Razorbacks to a top-five team finish.
Women's Freshman Runner of the Week: Katie Thronson, Tennessee
Tennessee's Katie Thronson placed third in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Open Race with a time of 21:01.9. She has started her collegiate career with three top-three finishes and has served as Tennessee's top finisher in all three meets this year. The Lady Vols are now 5-0 against SEC opponents this season.
